Why work with Angie?
 

I am the only certified Control Unleashed instructor, in Scotland. I'm also a certified Family Dog Mediator which means I care about the whole dog, and the whole family, not just the symptoms. 

I place huge emphasis on continuing my learning and studies, to ensure the advice I'm giving you, and your Border Collie, is in line with the most up to date science and understanding of dog training and behaviour. 

What I believe

Every behaviour a dog offers is information. Not naughtiness, stubbornness, or dominance. Information from their nervous system about what that dog is experiencing in the moment.

A dog who lunges on the lead is not a bad dog. A dog who can’t settle isn’t being difficult on purpose. A dog who growls when she’s being groomed isn’t trying to 'win'. A dog who barks at other dogs on a walk, or doesn’t interact, isn’t aloof or rude. They are telling us, in the only language they have, that something isn’t right — that they don’t feel safe, comfortable, or understood.​

 

That's why, when you bring your Border Collie, or reactive dog to me, my dog training won’t use anything that asks a dog to comply through fear or pressure. Suppressing a behaviour doesn’t remove the reason it’s happening. It just teaches the dog that telling you isn’t safe either.
